Mapping of Sections of DPDPA to DPDP Rules 2025
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and its corresponding Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (DPDP Rules) form the cornerstone of India's evolving data privacy framework. These regulations outline key obligations for Data Fiduciaries and rights for Data Principals, ensuring compliance with stringent data protection standards. With provisions such as legitimate data processing, verifiable consent mechanisms, and security safeguards, the DPDPA and DPDP Rules aim to foster accountability while empowering individuals with enhanced control over their personal data. This comprehensive mapping of DPDPA sections to DPDP Rules 2025 simplifies compliance strategies for organisations, offering clarity on key obligations, exemptions, and governance structures under India's data privacy regime. The DPDP Rules 2025, comprising 23 Rules and 7 Schedules, were notified on 13th November 2025.
